Sliding windows are gaining more and more relevance in yacht design. Traditionally these solutions are supplied with the aim to favour natural ventilation, therefore normally installed on port and starboard sides.
Nowadays sliding windows become a solution to transform yachts’ areas with a click and encourage guests entertainment and communication.
On board Lady Nina we supplied three major sliding windows with up/down motion, with more than 3 meters of width, installed on the upper deck on port, starboard and front areas.
The goal is twofold: turn a closed are into an open fly, with all the entertainment benefits that this brings; enhance the experience of captain / owner when at command from here and give the possibility to socialize with guest and friends although in different areas.

For two recent deliveries – a 78’ Flybridge and the new OTAM 70 HT – we supplied sliding windows installed on the aft area that hide between the interior and exterior sofas.
Furthermore from a pure aesthetic perspective these solutions extend the space and therefore the perceived dimensions.
On new award winning 40 M superyacht instead a series of sliding windows have been installed on both sides of the flydeck to fulfill the function of windbreaker and increase the comfort on board.
